Describe your work in one sentence:

Messy, abstract paintings that are full of colour and texture.

Why do you do it?

I’ve been creative for as long as I can remember, starting with drawing at around two years old, and now I can’t put down a paintbrush! Creating for me has always been my escape and my space to just be me. I studied Fine Art at the University of Lincoln followed by a masters in Museum studies but since moving to Manchester I've struggled finding my feet in the art scene. Being a part of GRIT has allowed me to find a community and connect with other like minded creatives, allowing me to find myself again.

What keeps you going (what’s your GRIT)?

Being involved in public opportunities as of recent has helped me feel like I'm a part of something bigger, and makes me want to chase the next big thing. I also love the chance to connect with other artists at events like this to gain inspiration!

What advice would you give to somebody wanting to become a ‘creative’?

Try to apply for Open Call exhibitions and attend gallery openings. These events have allowed me to meet some lovely people and make important connections that have been vital in leading to the next opportunity!

Tell us something unusual about yourself.

I spend most of my time off work attending gigs and seeing all my favourite artists live... I've been to 19 in the last year!
