Category of work:
Life-casting and Mould-making
Describe your work in one sentence:
Playing with goo to capture moments and emotions from people and objects, then turning these into inspiring art or useful things!
What keeps you going (what’s your GRIT)?
Almost everything I do is some sort of collaboration, whether it's with a client, the model, or other artistic collaborator. When I mix that with my technical understanding of the materials and the process, there's something I find about that interaction which is incredibly motivating.
What advice would you give to somebody wanting to become a ‘creative’?
Make time and space in your life to be able to open your head and your heart to your creativity, don't be afraid to step out of the everyday.
I spent most of my professional day-job career staring at a computer screen because for years that's what others expected of me, but after a while it stopped filling my cup. Now it's my creativity and art which does that.
Tell us something unusual about yourself.
I am also involved in industrial heritage and volunteer on a heritage railway, where I get to drive the trains!
