Paul Wigley

Category of work:

Wooden Creations

Describe your work in one sentence:

Hand-held hardwood creations to larger scale Architectural interventions.

Why do you do it?

The joy of creation, honing of skills (the acquisition of gorgeous tools) the aroma of wood and a fear of wolves.

What keeps you going (what’s your GRIT)?

Curiosity and a modicum of inspiration but mostly perspiration.

What advice would you give to somebody wanting to become a ‘creative’?

Court those commissions and don’t sell yourself short, well we all do loss leaders, but don’t make a career of it!

Tell us something unusual about yourself.

I’ve had more than my 15mins of fame…As the ‘front legs & Head’ of the pantomime cow in Altrincham Garricks production of Jack and the Beanstalk, circa 1982, I nailed it.
