Category of work:
Live illustration, visual storytelling, and bespoke information design.
Describe your work in one sentence:
I distill complex ideas, research, and discussions into tangible, engaging visuals that help people experience and connect with concepts more clearly and powerfully.
Why do you do it?
Because words alone can only go so far when you're trying to share dense information or bring people together. I love creating tools that help public sector bodies connect with citizens, charities support service users, and researchers engage their participants, making knowledge accessible and inspiring for all kinds of learners.
What keeps you going (what’s your GRIT)?
I often work live, in real time, and create visuals whilst people are talking... afterwards people say 'how do you do that!?' in disbelief at the speed I've processed the information and created the work. It's an amazing feeling for me because honestly... I don't actually know how I do it. Over the years of working in live illustration I have developed a loose methodology but essentially this is just how my brain works. I see in pictures, I learn in pictures, and I communicate in pictures. It feels so wonderful and validating to be able to bring so much of my natural self to work and have that be the key skill.
Tell us something unusual about yourself.
My thumbs look more like toes than my toes. Very strange. Ask me for a look if you're curious.
